Stress Management

Sometimes it's just hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel

There are times where we feel low; days where we just don’t feel right.  Sometimes though these days turn into weeks, months and years, and life becomes hard.

“I didn't think I would ever suffer with stress, and I didn’t think it would affect me as much as it has done, I feel physically ill from it, I don't know what happened but I feel so depressed and I just don’t want to do anything, I find it hard to get out of bed and work is hard, I can’t concentrate and I don’t want to be there, I don’t really know what to do"

This is just one of the comments we have received whilst providing counselling to a client, sometimes it's just hard for people to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Stellar Mind are able to offer your organisation workplace counselling which goes hand in hand with your health and wellbeing strategy, enabling you to proactively support staff mental health issues.

Wellbeing in Business

An increasing number of employers are realising the importance of employee mental health, and of course as an employer you have a duty of care to look after your employees' wellbeing.  According to the Health and Safety Executive, 84% of managers accept that employee wellbeing is their responsibility, but only 30% have taken part in mental health training.

“Supporting mental health in the workplace is not just a corporate responsibility; staff who have positive mental health are more productive and businesses who promote a progressive approach to mental health can see a significant impact on business performance, so it’s about good business too”

Dr Justin Varney, National Lead for Adult Health and Wellbeing Public Health England

There are so many positives with modern living, but that doesn't mean it's getting any easier. In fact, the opposite seems to be true.

Today, people feel under immense pressure both inside and outside of work. And most of the counselling sessions we hold with employees are for those struggling with their mental health, with issues such anxiety, work related stress, low mood and depression.

While some workplace stress is normal, excessive stress can interfere with your productivity and performance, impact on your physical and emotional health, affect your relationships and home life.

At any one time one worker in six will experience depression, anxiety or issues relating to stress.
